Rakhee Jasani: Qigong & Yoga Teacher | Creativity, Well-being, and Community — Rakhee Jasani

pleased to meet you

qigong, yoga and creativity: a lifelong practice rooted in tradition

I am a qigong and yoga teacher, writer, and creative leader based in Bournemouth, where I teach primarily in Boscombe, Southbourne, and Christchurch. With a background in both creative arts and mindful movement, my practice is rooted in the belief that relaxation, creativity, and community are the cornerstones of well-being.

Yoga and qigong have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is watching my grandmother light ghee-soaked wicks at dawn—an act of reverence that I still practice today, albeit with a view of the sea in Dorset. These early experiences with ritual have shaped my approach to teaching: deeply connected to nature, grounded in tradition, and always open to creative exploration.

Through my classes and workshops, I guide people to find greater balance, vitality, and inner peace. Whether through dynamic, breath-led qigong and yoga sequences, meditation, or deep relaxation, my aim is to help you discover your own creative expression and awaken your spirit. My sessions are designed to support you in connecting with your body, breath, and mind, and are enriched by seasonal themes, nature-inspired practices, and a playful, light-hearted approach.

I teach a wide range of students, from beginners to those with more experience, and I specialise in offering accessible sessions for those with health conditions or seeking a gentler approach. I also offer workshops and one-on-one guidance, helping participants tap into their full potential and build lasting, positive change.

I believe in making my classes accessible to everyone. Where possible, I offer sliding scales and pay-what-you-can options, so that cost is not a barrier to attending. This reflects my commitment to ensuring that my teachings are available to as many people as possible, regardless of financial circumstances.

In addition to my in-person work, I consider my writing and free audio classes a vital part of my teaching, as they allow me to reach and support people beyond the physical classroom. I run sell-out workshops focused on relaxation, movement, and mindfulness, and work collaboratively with local community organisations, such as Parks in Mind, Vibrant Communities and BCP Council, to make qigong and yoga accessible to people in care homes, parks, and other public spaces.

Before focusing on Qigong and yoga, I co-founded Eastside Educational Trust, one of London’s leading youth arts, creativity, and education charities. As co-director for 23 years, I helped grow the charity into a recognised organisation and won multiple awards. My experience there has deepened my understanding of the power of creativity and community in creating positive change.

My qualifications include training in yoga at Yoga on the Lane with Naomi Annand and Adam Hocke, teaching yoga and mindfulness to teenagers with Charlotta Martinus and the Teen Yoga Foundation, and qigong with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. I hold an MA in English and Modern Languages from Oxford University and a Diploma in Arts Management from Birkbeck College.

Whether you're seeking relaxation, creativity, or personal transformation, I’m here to support your well-being through Qigong, yoga, and mindful movement.

I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Rakhee, which she adapted for my pregnancy without any fuss, but with care and consideration. Her classes are thoughtful and intelligent and I appreciated her rich use of language and visualisation, which really added to my experience.
